From what I read during my struggling days to heal Kame, Pyramiding can cause something to it's liver and some other internal organs (I have forgotten).
Heavy pyramiding can make the turtle hard to move because the shape of it's carapas n plastron had changed.
Too bad I'm using cellphone, I can't link you to Kame's picture...she was having mild pyramiding because I gave her wrong diet before I found this forum.
The good news is, proper diet can heal mild pyramiding

. Basically, every scute will protrude like a pyramid, the platron under the neck will also protrude (thanks God kame has shed this part).
