I understand completely. Of course money is an issue, when isn't it? I'm not trying to pressure you or anything but I'm sure that cam and everyone (including myself) is just trying to inform you about these things. That's why I recommended getting certain items to save in the long run. From my experience, I bought certain products that costed me well over $150 just to find out that these products don't work as well. I wind up coughing another $200 to replace these items due to upgrades. I don't want you to do the same thing like I did. You should take your turtle outside when it's a warm sunny day. Let nature provide the warmth for your turtle and the UVB rays. I say around 75 degrees or higher would be a good enough day. For now, I think you're doing a heck of a job. That kind of dedication and responsiblity will only make you a better person. It's kind of like a trade. You're giving your turtle a better life than he had before and in return, he's giving you something.

If it's too cold outside, I wouldn't risk it then. Vien could catch a respiratory infection and that wouldn't be good. I might not be a meteorologist but I think I can use some common sense when I say that no household lamp can heat up a basking area to the 90s when the outside temperature is like 50s lets say. I guess for now, he can do without a UVB light temporary. Try ordering things online to save more. Local petshops usually charge 10%-20% more than online prices. Even with shipping + tax(varies), it usually is still cheaper. Unfortunately, if there's one thing I learn when it comes to pet shopping online, there usually isn't any free shipping deals. There's usually exceptions like you have to spent $50 or more. Petsmart still has the Reptisun 5.0 with free shipping (after 4 months since I bought one back then). But whenever you have the chance, get a UVB light.
