So should the Rena XP3 be good for a 75gal tank, or should I get another filter (XP2, 3, another one all together)? It's just a little over 2 times the size... but I heard the best is three times the size of your tank?
I just read you should rate by GPH over how big the aquarium is.mikee wrote:When purchasing the filter use gph as a guide. It needs to pump at least 5 times the volume that you have in the tank. A little more is ok.
Rena XP3's GPH is 350. I would have about 70 gals in the tank so five times the amount of that is 350. Sounds perfect to me but just want to ask you guys to make sure.

Awww... but that's sorta cute!! He just wants to know you're there because he loves you!untsmurf wrote:My turtle used to do that to me when his tank was in my room. It was really annoying. He would splash around until I got up then he would stop. It got to the point where when I would hear him splash, I would just raise my hand into the air so he could see me and he would stop. It was really irritating.
Your XP3 should be good for the 75 gallon. If not, you can just keep using your current filter in addition to the XP3.
