Made my jello shots today!!
I used:
1 bunch of kale (purchased for 33 cents from my local farmer's market!)
some green leaf lettuce left over and forgotten in my fridge
2 super extra large carrots (purchased for 15 cents from the farmer's market and produced wayyyy more carrot shavings than a regular bag of baby carrots would have)
the skin off of 2 apples
1 ground up SUPER large cuttle bone (found for 65 cents! at my new favorite local pet store)
1/2 c blueberries
4 strawberries
2 regular sized vine tomatoes
I dissolved 2 beef bullion cubes in about 2 cups of water to aid in the purifying process. (then drained some of the excess liquid before adding gelatin and boiling water)
I used 4 packets of unflavored Knox.
I dont know if it's enough gelatin yet since they're in the fridge setting up right now. (kinda doubtful since I have seen no results so far)
So excited to feed to the turts...I just used jello shot cups since I couldnt find jello molds and its blizzardy and I didnt want to drive far to a store. Hoping it will be easy to cut the shots into 3rds or 4ths since they're a little large. Theyve never really enjoyed fresh kale...I threw in fresh veggies while cutting everything up and everything has been devoured besides the kale :/
I wish I had thought to "prune" my aquatic garden and add water plants....shucks
