Do you two have it out for each other. I don't know how many threads I have read where it seems the two of you are slammin each other for something. Give it a rest!

Mine run off too when i come in. Its amazing how fast they are. And whenever I sit infront of the tank they always try to come through the tank and get me. ITS rather funny, and they try so hard, so i have to back off before they hurt themselves.

Ignore them.. or give them veggies. Mine just seem to want the attention. :)

I noticed that my turtle blinks his eye quite often while basking, I wonder if it's because the air is dry? anyone had seen their turtle do this? :?
I like to watch turtle yawn, it's amazing how big they can open their mouth :)

My turts blink but it doesn't seem to be that often. What's the humidity where you are?

I live in student dorm so I have a heater in the room, which makes the air dry :(, but I have to leave it on or else it will be freezing cold. I thought the water in the tank might help a bit with the moisture though don't you think?

It certainly helps some, but if the air is dry and he's on the basking area, the eyes could dry out if he's up there a long time. What's the temp of the basking area?

Do the eyes seem OK otherwise?

Just curious, but when you mentioned you like to watch your turtle yawn, how much would you say he's yawning? (Frequently?)

I know the temperture gauge outside the tank labeled about 76~78F, with the lamp probably 80F, and yes the eye is fine, I do give him eye drop every now and then to prevent him from getting Vit A deficiency.
Oh, and about the yawning, he doesn't yawn very much, which is why I found it rare and neat.
