Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

only a little of the mucusy stuff was produced yesterday, i saw it when i tried to feed it and saw that it pooped and just specks of white mucusy stuff was floating in the water and it seemed to have came from it behind. so i didn't want it to eat it and just changed the water. none was produced today,

whoa $100 for just observation? ok i will definitely try to call around to look for a better deal.

what should i do about the alleged fungus? can't i brush it off then treat it with something?

but pudgy is kinda active right now. i dont know what to interpret from that, is it getting better?

o wow, i am so sorry for asking all these questions and getting all crazy, but pudgy is my favorite out of the 2 RES i have. it likes to watch dexter and bones with me. it swims to watch the tv and when i turn it off it looks at me like "hey, i was watching that!" i really bonded with it these couple of months...sigh i hate to know that it may be suffering in any way :'(

That stuff could have just been part of the waste. I don't know about $100, but it's up there and pretty standard. They'll discuss with you any tests or next steps. For fungus, the best stuff is silver sulfadiazine, but you can only get that from a vet.

I don't know enough about what's going on with your turtle, so I can't say if it's getting better or worse.

ok, well its been 2 days since i brought Pudgy back from the vet. She said it was RI and gave it a shot of anitbiotics in the rear, but it wasn't enough i guess. Pudgy passed away just moments ago. i dont know what else to say.

Thank you for all your advice.

Man I'm so sorry, that was too sudden. I know what's done is done but aren't they supposed to inject from the front leg? I heard the assistant say inject in the the back and the vet said no not on this type of turtle... Ugh that's a really crappy situation. You did everything right. :(

Please keep an eye on the other turtle, if they were together RI is contagious. :|
