General Care Discussion :: Turtle eggs?

Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

Ok, so I have a male red eared slider turtle and I read that males can still lay eggs. However I'm still unsure if these are eggs or not, 2 of them appeared whilst I was at school and Kenny seems very protective over them. Then again, it's not unusual for Kenny to have aggressive behaviour. Are these eggs or is there another explanation?

Extra info: Kenny is around 5 years old and I'm pretty sure he has reached sexual maturity.
Any help would be much appreciated. :) http://s831.photobucket.com/albums/zz237/scobunnet/?action=view&current=snapshot1.jpg

Hi Louis, male RES cannot lay eggs. Are you sure the turtle is a male? I have not seen retained or calcified eggs of that color either. I would take it and the gravel out of the tank.
