How do you get good pics? I have an OK digital camera.. but I can't find a good setting to take their pics! With a flash, theres reflection..without flash its blurry..

What settings do you guys with digital cameras use for your turtles?

i just put it on macro. and then take like 50 pictures. if you take enough of them, you have to get at least one or two good ones.

I usually do use my flash, just have to go at an angle kind if to avoid the reflection. Sometimes with enough ambient light I an get away without using a flash, but unless he's sleeping it's usually blurry. ...also I kinda have a fancy camera...

Digital cameras can be so frustrating! Is there a way to manually focus?

I think so but this camera has a lot more options than the last. I am by no means technologically dumb..and I can't figure out how to work it! Its a nice camera but I can never get good pics (unless they are outside in bright sun)

Most point and shoot would not have a manual focus. Don't be so close to the subject, have the camera at least a couple of feet away.

Mine has manual..other weird things. Levels? or something? My main problem is the glare from the tank and blur when the flash is off to prevent the glare!

Your pics turn out great too! I will try taking mine outside for the pics. I usually take them while they are in the tank and thats why I have the glare problem. Mine arent tame like yours though. They hate being outside of the tank

Be careful using the flash, especially up close to the turtle, the flash can annoy, scare, or even have some temporary blindness. There are a few camera's or computer programs that can convert a video into alot of pictures, like if you don't want to take the time to take single pictures, you can record a video, then get to the video frame, and cut the picture, there should be programs that will enhance picture quality from a video.

I usually step back a few, then use the zoom feature, then use the flash, it mostly turns out to be the best choice.

Good luck on the pictures!
Thanks,
Richard
