Here's a handful of pics for you all to enjoy:

Former home of my babies, a 20L. At this time I was shopping for their new home cause look how big they are:

After searching and searching I droveto Redondo Beach...came back with this bargain:

As you can see, I believe in a natural looking enviroment. Sure it's a pain to do work on it but my turtles aren't bored, they do not bite each other, they have foraging options up the nose. The most nipping they do is the goldfish tails, but they dont go chasing and eating them. I have two boys, two girls. The boys dont bother the girls, they get all fluttery with each other though...don't ask what Mike does to Raph occasionally...

This is Raph(full tummy shot) and Mike. I litterally just took these like 2 min ago hehe :-)
Image

This is Casey, one of the two girls. Yeha it's a ear angle...check the posessed goldfish behind her!
Image

In this 50g tub lives my 3-toe box Lia. She was handed to me by PetCo, she was dumped off there and I got lucky as did Lia. SHe does get outside in the sun when it's warm for her, so she does get a dose of sunlight.
Image
Here she is, my girl Lia. I wanna find her a Leo but 3-toes are hard to come by. I feel very lucky when I got her the way I did.
Image
Oh yeah my Ornate Woods...
Pride & Joy, I love these two. They got me really going into the turtle thing, they're adorable!!
This is Jessie sniffing around. Recently I removed that gravel, ugh! it made cleaning a pain in the butt.
Image

This is what the tank looks like right after a good cleaning up:

Dont ask what it looked like a week later

Here's my boy Donnie exploring my computer room, their tank used to be in here but I moved it to the 'formal dining room' which is now the turtle room:

Continued next post, some of my rescues!

Here's a few of my rescues. I will take in turtles and turn them over to my friends at Turtle Love Ranch if I can't keep them. ALL of these animals are all fine, got homes or are staying at TLR for good.

This is Notch, my first rescue. Adult RES..it's obvious, her problem. You'd have keeled over when you first see her..she STUNK! I never saw her tank but I assume it was SMALL...no proper lighting, food, etc and filters were no good...if any. This is when I first got her. I kept her until Marvin could come take her.
Image
Her now:
Image
I borrowed her for a classroom lesson at my friend's school. I took shots of her before Marv returned her to her pond. TLR kept her as an education animal, she is a good example of a screwed up turtle. She's a a feisty, happy girl living with her own kind. And she likes to get out of hte pond and jump in their pool!! Which is possible that the chlorine cleared up the shell rot!! (that's all scarring on her shell)

Two classroom turtles. After educating the teacher about these tow being SICK(pink bellies!) and telling her how they need to be housed(they had a 10g tank, 2" of water, rocks, no lights and a crappy filter and the teacher said she wasn't much of an animal person(WHY THEN?!?!)..these two were acquired from their other campus, and i had heard about them over a year ago but never saw them til a few months ago when I took them!):

And Joey:

I took a chance and put them in the 120 with mine...get this, they didnt know how to swim right away. They were WALKING on the rocks and climbing them to get air. Of course they remembered what those big feet were for and were hauling all around the tank, they were being turtles. And then they found the basking ramp. They probably thought they died and gone to heaven.

And one more, my Russian Tortoise rescue:
Image
He was kept in water. YES...water. Shallow, there is a ring around the marginals...could you believe this??? His scutes are flaking off. HIs plastron's infected, overgrown beak, nails and his feet scales are thick and long because he didnt have dry ground to wear them down!
Image
Image
He's the worst I've seen so far, I know there'll be worse.
I'm VERY VERY happy to say he is doing great. He got a beak and nail trim, he is living in a colony of fellow Ruskies chasing the girls around, beating up the other males and eating like a tortoise... He's a happy boy now.

Amazing ain't it?

Here's my cats too:
Image
Jinksy is the fluffball. He might be Maine Coon, or at least partly. Sharkey is the grey boy, he's not a Russian but he's got the color. Jinks is suffereing from seperation anxiety(working on it!) and Sharkey's a timid cat who's as most cats, on his own terms. He LOVES kids and always gravitates to my son. He as my nephew's cat originally but Robert turned allergic..so now he's mine. Jinks chose me from the shelter, he hasn't stopped being mister affection...which is part of his anxiety I think. But he's a good boy. He's in here with me right now. Everything I do, he's interested. He kept his eyes on me the whole time i took the pic. Sharks was like, big deal!
Took this pic last night.

Your turts are lucky to have you! They look so HEALTHY. good job! The set-up looks great. The bigger those turts get though, the goldfish will become turtlefood.

Nice shots and turts! You're doing some good work there. :)
