Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

For Valentine's Day my mom got me these Tetrafauna Reptoguard thingies. It's in the shape of a turtle and it's white and it says turtle health conditioner, helps control common diseases for a happy turtle. Directions, use one reptoguard turtle conditioner per 20 gallons of water, blocks will slowly dissolve releasing active ingredients on average, each block will last 45-60 days. Helps control a variety of organisims including salmonella for the safety of the pets and owners.
Ingredients: calcium suflate hemihydrate, sulfathiazole, sufladiazin sodium, sulfamethazine, urea.

Is it ok to put in my tank or shall it be a decoration outside the tank?

She had no idea what it does and neither do I, all we both know is that it is for turtles and it is in the shape of a turtle.

I actually never wash my hands after handling my turtle anyways (I know bad practice.) So I'm not worried about that.

I use these. Its like the liquid water conditioners. It aids in the removal of chlorine in the water and also adds calcium to the water. I throw one in whenever it dissolves away or when I do full water changes. I don't know if it actually works or anything though.

It's a sulfa block (similar to Dr. Turtle). Overall, it's useless and I remember several stories about worms (might have been fly larvae) being very attracted to it. It's been reported a few times on this site...

They're basically a waste of money (although a kind gesture on your mother's part). They won't control salmonella, and the calcium in them isn't even the kind that can readily be absorbed by your turtle.

Yeah they were only sixty cents so it wasn't that bad of a money spent part. I kinda wish she would have got me ghost shrimp or something fishy lol. But hey it's a cute decorate to put up outside the tank with my other turtle stuff!
