Once awhile my RES makes breathing noise on its nose. It last for couple seconds then it'll come back couple minutes later? What's wrong it? Is it a health problem?

You think its more of a weezing or just breathing. Usually sounds like that deal with a respiratory infection but it could just be normal. Either way read up on the other signs of a respiratory infection just incase.

If your turtle is making noises when he breathes that is not normal. Bump water and basking temps up by 5 degrees each and read up on the link Diamondbacks provided while you're waiting for the vets office to open to schedule an appointment. Good Luck, I hope you caught it early enough.

Is it like a whistle noise when they exhale? My female RES would make that noise when she's breathing heavy after a long swim underwater.

Mine made that kind of sound after she eats everytime.i think she's just out of breath..
