I just cleaned Petri's tank and decided to add more water this time and raise his basking spot. Thought I'd take a few pics...

Two shots of his tanks:

that is so adorable :), nice close up of Petri swimming and basking, so neat how he climb on top of plastic grass and bask, so funny. Your basking area looks really neat, can you tell me how you made it? or what did you buy and use? Again, great pictures :)

The base is a plastic shower organizer. It has a layer of that shelf grip stuff. One turtle sized rock. The grass came in a square and I just cut it up. Everything but the rock is from Walmart.

One question, has he ever gotten stuck on the underside of the container or do you have that blocked in some way?

That basking pic is wonderful, I agree with jen.. submit it for the photo contest.. :)
How in the world did he get up on the grass like that??

I'm actually wondering if using one of those shower organizers would help in the noise from the filter waterfalls.. hmmm may have to stop at Walmart :)

it does help with the noise. i have a soap dish that is the same style as that shower organizer and it definitely helps. I also have one for the turltes to sleep on, and they love just sitting up there and watching me walk by.

BTW, I had a terrible time finding a basking site that would work in the tank I have. I used your idea and found the soap dish size at Walmart, found a piece of flatter driftwood in the bucket I had, turned the soap dish updside down and attached the driftwood with cable ties through the holes in the wood. The turtles LOVE it and if they get bigger, I can just move up on the size of driftwood.

Thanks for the photos!
