Well my turtles LOVE THEM. I used the improved recipe only changing the Kale out for Red Leaf Lettuce, because my turtles love that stuff. I bought some ice tray at the dollar store that look like little round sticks. After they set in fridge for about three hours, they came out perfect.

Then I cut them in half on an angle, and froze them.

When I first put them in, the turtles did not even look at them, so I threw in a couple turtle pellets to let them know it was time to eat, and LOOK OUT, the feeding frenzy was on!

They do seem to come apart quite quickly, but I watched the turtles scrounge the bottom of they tank for every little piece, within 15 minute there is nothing left.

The stick trays I used are almost exactly two turtle heads long, so cutting them in half is great, I can give them each a half about twice a week, odd days a few pellets and some lettuce. Based on that calculation I made almost 15-20 weeks of balanced meals for two turtles for about 8 bucks! LOVE IT!!!

So I thought but Sheldon took a few bites and quickly lost interest. Now I accidently forgot to add the pellets to the top of them but does that make a huge difference?

And yet Sheldon just pushed it around after eating a little bit of it. The squares were about 1/2" square (doesn't sound big does it?) Should I make them smaller pieces so he doesn't just push them around?

^^Yes and I'll try to remember to crush pellets up in the top before putting them in the fridge. :)

Im not really sure if mine is eating the jello shots. For 4 months now havent really seen him eating it. But when I go check on him from time to time the jello gets smaller. At the end of the day all that's left are debris. If I take the debris out, it is a sizable amount. Could the jello just been disintegrating? I've tried soaking a jello shot in a small dish for a whole day to see if it disintegrates on its own but it stays intact unless it is touched. I'm just worried that by the time my turt tries to eat it, the jello would disintegrate from being soaked for several hours. I also tried giving jello shots twice in a row. On the second day, the jello is clearly uneaten. It disintegrated but stayed in one location (debris is lumped in one area).

I think most people try to use it in a separate feeding container. What does he normally eat?

Does anyone have turts who stopped eating the jello shot? It has been four months but mine hasnt gotten into eating veggies. Already tried soaking lettuce in tuna water but still negative results. Varied the veggie mix every month for a different "flavor". Really stumped on how to get him to eat veggies. As of monday im trying the tough love approach

Tried feeding in a separate smaller container but he walks all over the jello. While in his tank he just avoids the spot where the jello is
