Well, we measured Koopa today. He has grown so much just since the last time I measured not more than a month ago. But he did this once before and then didn't grow anymore for months. So I'm hoping it's the same this time. He also is starting to shed scutes for the first time. My baby is growing up! :)

I'm getting really curious as to whether he is a "he". I know it's a little early but I believe I'm seeing signs of him being a boy. Take a look at the pics and see if it's just wishful thinking or not. And I do know he still has room for growth before knowing for sure. I'm just getting impatient! And it was really hard getting a good nail picture so you'll have to look close. :D

Awww.. such cute pictures :) I love the feeding one.. lol not to mention the let's get "mommy's" finger.

As for the boy/girl thing... I'd go more by the tail than the nails at this point. I noticed my male turtle showed no signs of nail growth until at least 4".. but the tail definitely showed male long before the nails did. How long is he btw??

Actually that was "daddy's" fingers in the pics. My hubby has realized how fun it is to have a turtle and is always playing with him and feeding him. So Koopa is spoiled now. :)

He is 3.25 inches. (which is in my sig ;))

Sheesh.. would help if I read everything posted.. :)

As for Daddy's fingers. at one point there were four hands hahaha.. I'm glad he's enjoying him too :)

Now that I've rechecked the pictures, heck you can tell by the wedding rings which hand belongs to who :)

off to clean my glasses and monitor now .. :D

My early guess is that Koopa is a she based on the tail, but those front claws are looking pretty long... :)

So I guess I'll keep waiting... because I really want him to be a boy. Not that I can change that fact one way or the other, huh? :D The claws seem longer each time I look at him which may just be wishful thinking.

Odd, I think the tail looks more male than female but thought the nails looked too short although they are the last to really show.

When I compared the tail with pics on Austin's turtle page last night, I thought it favored male more than female too. But I know that there's still some growing to do and anything now is just a guess. :)
