Hello everyone! I finally signed up for the forums; although I have been reading them for over a year now. I started out with 2 RESs: TurtleDee & TurtleDum. TurtleDee died a few months after I got him (RIP) and I'm the one to blame for not knowing enough about turtle care . I kept his name in my username as a reminder. TurtleDum is doing well!!

I have 4 turtles, My first turtle is a Yellow Belly Slider, I named her Myrtle (I thought it was awesome until I realized EVERYONE names their turtle myrtle!) LOL I also have 3 Painted turtles, (Here's where got clever!)their names are Leo (Leonardo Davinci), Monet, and Picasso!

Hi I have 3 res I have had for several years. They are about 6-8in I have two females and a make. Thier names are Shrek Fiona and Dragon. They were names by my daughter and soon when the kids were little. I asked why name them that I got because the turtle are ugly like they are. .......I shut up and walked away. ....... every now and again we get a Donkey. The only goldfish that makes it to grow

I have had my res for about 7 years now. I originally named her Michael-angelo after my favorite ninja turtle. After figuring out she was a female RES we have only altered the name to Michelle-Angela. Still works!

We adopted "Crush" and renamed him "Ryan"! Although after reading how to decipher male/female, me thinks "Ryan" is a girl ...

I just signed no too long ago and posted another introduction and a few questions over in the care thread for "Frog" the RES. She got her name when I asked my girlfriend for some ideas, she responded with frog and we both laughed for a minute and decided-- why not! It's stuck ever since.

Hi, I'm new to this forum and new to keeping turtles. I have two hatchling Common Map Turtles, their names are Amelia and Sebastian.

I am really enjoying keeping them. I also keep freshwater fish.

Not sure why I did not respond to this before. I adopted two RESs in December, the previous owner had named them Bonnie & Clyde, but had mistakenly thought they were a male and female. Once I adopted them, I am certain they are both females. I've renamed them A'Tuin and Morla.

A'Tuin is the name of the celestial turtle from the Discworld novels that the Discworld sits upon, and Morla is the giant turtle from the Neverending Story.
