help!my turtle is laying her eggs on the rocks. I though she layed her eggs at 14.00pm and i found the eggs at 19.00 pm uncovered. The shape of the eggs not good enough, is i t ok? i already put the eggs in a small plastic tray (with dump sand). is it still ok if i want to keep these eggs?

Well, do you just have the one turtle or is she with a male? If there's no male, the eggs are no good anyway. Even if they were, I'd say chuck'em. There are too many res out there already. You should look into setting up a proper nesting area for her tho so she can finish laying if she's holding more.

Welcome. The eggs are most likely not viable (and definitely not if she has no mate).

You need to make a nesting box/area for her in case she has more to lay. The depth should be 3/4 the length of the shell, and a 50/50 mix of sand and compost would be a good medium. More info is here: http://www.tortoisetrust.org/articles/Nestsites.htm

How big/old is your turtle? How many eggs did she lay?

Yes, my turtle Pika has her male Piko they are 5 years old. In fact she just layed eggs last month(16 may 2006) for 8 eggs and they are in good condition, because those eggs were in the sand, and i dig them out and put them in special container. however her second time (15 june 06) eggs not in good condition, they have concave surface at one side on every 6 eggs. I still keep the eggs in special container. Is it ok ? How to attach picture/photo in this forum? so that i can share what the eggs looks like. Thanks

If the eggs are collapsing, they are becoming dehydrated and are most likely not viable.
