Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

My turtle, Rocky, loves to stay at the bottom of the tank. I notice that his mouth kept open and close. Not opening wide, it's like he's chewing something but with the mouth open. is it something normal?

How frequently is he doing this? Maybe he's just getting a drink.

Assuming he's healthy, it sounds like he's drinking. My turts do this, especially when they've been out of the water for a while and then go back in.

He does it quite frequently, like every 1.5 to 2 seconds. and his throat has some movement like us human drinking water. does turtles need to drink water that frequent?
he seems healthy to me. always stay in the bottom of the tank or swimming around. when i'm not around, he'd sun bath at the basking area. when i feed him (once a day), he eats like i've hunger him for a week.

I notice that Rocky only does that when he's in the water
