This is in Ohio and here is what the message says that I got in my email today

My stepson has two small turtles to give to someone. His mom says he
can't keep them as he doesn't do his share. They come with a tank,
(small crack/doesn't leak water) food, and water purifier. Would like
gone as soon as possible. Grandview Heights area.

Here is their email elhamric@yahoo.com

If anyone wants the turtles please go get them. I can't handle two more turtles (Michelangelo is enough) and I don't have the room for them. So if anyone would like to have them they are free as I got this message on a free cycle message board.
She is mine and I shall call her Michelangelo!

If I had the room I would take them in, but I don't. I recently took in a cat and her two kittens, and that was my parents undoing, lol. Some how I have a feeling that these two turts don't have a tank that is of adequate size either, and I can't afford to maintain another tank.

I wonder what would happen if you replied with the information for a local rescue organization? Pretty much everything goes on freecycle, but on the chance that it doesn't it would be nice if they had the information. Better than finding out they have been released into the wild or something.

Around here I do not believe that there is a rescue organization for turtles. Hardly anyone here is allowed to have them and I imagine that they are under the 4 inch law here so no one would be willing to take them either. I can probably tell you that their fate would be the same as those that were with mine at the mall..the game warden takes them and after that he "disposes" of them.

Start with the local vet then a reptile organization or society... they'll have more info about whats locally available.
