Thanks a lot for your words.
The previous owner doesn't take care of it (him/her ?) so the actual tank is a very very tiny one.
I'm planning to buy a 20 galon tank this week, a proper basket surface, the UVA and UVB lights, the filter for a 40 gal tank, and so on. I was reading a lot of post here and now it's time to go to the pet store for shopping

This is a great place for information! Sounds like you are off to a good start. That is educating yourself on what the turtle needs. The next thing will be just try to make the up grades. It will take some time and money. If you have any question and you cant find the answer, just post and we will all try and help if we can. Good Luck!
