This Galapagos was kind enough to let me rest on him. (I'm pregnant so don't make fun of how bad I look LOL)

We took some pictures of other turtles but none of them turned out.

Ha-imagine housing one of those! It'd be a whopper of a tank...

LOL, I've got a pic exactly like the second from last but it was taken three summers ago when we went... can't believe it's been that long since we've been there. Maybe I should post mine so we can be "twinkies" ;).

Hope you all had a good time. Did they still have a lot of turtles and torts? They did when we went.

Yeah, they had a lot of turtles and torts but the pictures I posted are the only ones that showed up. You should post your pics. LOL :)

The meerkat was cracking us up. He/she came right over to us and I swear he liked having his picture taken. It was too cute.

I didn't realize just how swelled my legs were until I seen the one picture. We had alot of fun and I really needed all the walking we did.

Oh yeah here is a River Otter (My favorite animal other than my turts of coarse)

Those pics are great! It's been awhile since I have been to any zoo. The last time I went they were moving the zebras around to better the habitat...two of them committed suicide in their temporary pen. Not sure if that is the exact term that is used with animals, but they didn't adjust to their surroundings and literally rammed themselves into the fence. Within a week of being there, the zoo lost 4 animals. I felt like I was bad luck.

Those are great pix. Do you watch Meerkat Manor on the Animal Planet channel on TV? That's a great show. It's on Friday nights at 8:00. Cambridge University did a 10 year study of Meerkats in the Kalahari desert in Africa, and filmed them, sort of like Big Brother.

We have a joke at work, that my department is known now as "Meerkat Manor". Every Monday we all have to do a recap of the show. LOL, like we don't have anything better to do??
