As I mentioned in my first post...my plan all along was to set Tilly up at the preschool were I work. So school started last week and we bought a whole new set up for her. Here she is.

She actually loves watching everyone go by. She stays on her basking rock all day and watches the kids go by. She is so happy!

Thanks so much! She is 8 inches.

Everyone loves her at school. The kids all talk about her all the time. Since I got her in May, she lived at home with us for the summer and now my kids miss her! They come visit her every day, (they are in a different building on the same campus). My 14 year old brings her strips of bell peppers or cherries...her favorites! :D

I have her UVB on a timer and I turn on her basking light every morning and when I get there she climbs up on her rock like she is waiting on me!

She is such a joy! :D

It's 80 gallons. She was in a 30 gallon when I got her (way too small) :( and is loving her new space. Her favorite thing is the waterfall from her filter, she will swim back and forth, back and forth right under it, for the longest time! She is so funny! :D

I was thinking on changing my waterfall filter for a canister because I thought the noise drove Gandalf crazy! He works hard to pull the bottom of the tube off to make it stop running sometimes! The tube is long and in 2 pieces so he can sometimes disconnect the bottom piece. But then I'll see him float right under it like he enjoys the splashing on his back! Silly turtle lol!

Her filter is the Rena XP3. It has 2 different attachments for the water to flow back into the tank...the waterfall that I use and one that sends it under the water.

Tilly loves the waterfall! :D

Hi Zookeeper! Love the set up! I am dying to know how you put the turt's basking area together, what is supporting it? It looks nice and flat and better than the floating dock I have. Thanks! :)

Sorry that sounded like I hadn't posted on your topic yet. I just got excited when I took another closer look at her basking area. lol

The support of the dock is a locker shelf. It is made of metal and coated in rubber. I had a ZooMed floating dock and she was too heavy for it, we actually took it off the bars it was attached to and wired it to the bottom of the locker shelf with the sloped side sticking out so she can climb up on her rock easier.I got some flat landscaping stones and laid them on top and stood some up against the glass to create a cave. The stones that are standing cannot slide down because of the legs of the shelf. She sleeps in her cave. The fake plant in her tank is heavy, it's attached to a large rock but she pushes and pulls it around. Sometimes she pulls it inside her cave and sleeps on it.

It looks nice. :) Those landscaping stones look like bricks(?)

They are not bricks, just some sort of landscaping stones. The husband of one of my friends is a landscaper and he gave them to me. :)

If I can, I will take a better picture of the whole basking dock. It's hard to explain it but when you see it , it makes sense. :)
