A rather random thought popped into my head last night... How many people have actually said "RES" when describing your turtle? I almost did once, but ended up saying "Red ear slider" because I figured the person would have no clue what I'm talking about.
Has anyone else ever said "Res", or have I been spending too much time on the forum?

I use it all the time...then have to correct myself so that people understand. On the same note, I use lol, and other abbreviations in my language too. Kinda sad really!

I never have, but I am hyper aware of "lingo" as in using medical terms like "preop" with patients tends to confuse and frighten them. Therefore, I would guess, I might if I weren't aware of the fact that people don't understand me enough of the time without the odd abreviations and jargon.

I use it frequently, but many people don't know the meaning, so I usually have to clarify (a slider with red "ears").
