has anyone ever had a handicaped slider? My Stinky has 2 and a half legs, we rescued him last year. He is so cute and friendly. I just worry I am feeding him too much. He loves to eat.

How lucky for him that he found a good home. The best thing you can do for him is to not overfed him. It will jus add to his problems.. being overfed can cause him to be overweight.. prymiding.. internal damage to his organs... etc.

Do you happen to have any pictures of him?? If so, we'd love to see him :)

I will take one. He may be sleeping, I will check. How will I know if he is over weight?

nope, he is fast asleep, tucked in under his dangerous basking dock. I will get some of him tomorrow. I wonder if anyone else has a 2.5 legged turtle?

How big is he? I once had a disabled RES---he had two legs, only on the left side. What kind of set-up do you have for him (it may have to be adapted somewhat to account for his disability)? What kind of basking area are you using---is it easy for him to climb on to?
