really, it's unecessary and dangerous for someone with no experience in that field to attempt it. ot72 stressed that i believe.

The problem that many people face when hibernating turtles is that they don't have all of the needed components. In the wild, turtles are able to bury themselves below layers of mud. Unless you want all of that mud in your tank, it won't be possible. There are many other factors as well, temps and safety etc. I don't know all of the details, just that it isn't something that is recommended.

That's what i figured. I'm just a curious person none the less. Currently my tank is holding 78*, with the basking area at 90* I left this morning and both the girls were basking away

Last time OldTurtle had his, he would bring them indoors during the winter.

Oldturtle gave up turtle keeping and would be surprised if he returned, unless he started keeping turtles again. He used to keep his turtles in a pond in the basement during the winter.
