my house is under construction as of right now because we are adding a new addition to my house. My pops just gave the contracter get a suggestion to make a waterfall and pond inside the new living room being built. im very excited cuz 1) im not paying for any of this lol. 2) if my pops can get them to build it holding 300+, the pond will be my 2 little guys' home for life. construction for the inside of the house will start within a month or so. Ill def. keep all of you guys updated on this new indoor pond of mine!

just an update, the pond will hold 500+ gallons! this is gonna be sweet!

another update, the pond will be about 480 gallons, but oh well, still more than enough for 2 little 2 inch turtles!

jeez, make sure you suppot the floor lol. Are you going to have anything eles in there? what are your plans?

the pond will be on the first floor, and the base of the new addition is totally concrete so as far as support goes, the pond will never collapse.as far as putting anything else but turtles in there, im not quite sure, maybe a few koi but my main concern is that my two little guys will nibble or even eat them eventually. as of right now, my plans for this pond is just to make it as natural looking as possible. a waterfall is being build along with the pond. so my outcomes are endless. construction of the pond hasnt started yet. but as soon as it does, ill def. take some pics and keep you guys updated on the outcome of the pond. give me some ideas as to what i can add to my pond so i can start designing and start saving up for other aquatic creatures etc...

i would sit down with your dad and the contractor and dicuss what will be the best way to incoperate a heat lamp and such in the desighn if you are going for a decoration pond

That's a good idea Andrew!. With having a pond like that, i'd want to incorporate eveything, cleaning, draining, filling, you name it. Lighting, basking. Maybe even have a whole out of water dry area, where they can go hang out? Complete with live grass? who knows, your options are as you say endless.

as far as draining goes, there will be a drain with a hose connected to it that leads to the outside of my house. And thanks for the advice about the heat lamps and stuff, i should talk with my pops about that. and as far as live grass in the house...we werent planning on bringing my yard inside lol. ill come back an update as soon as a floor plan is drawn out for this pond of mine.
