my turtle has a third red striped in the middle of the 2 red ears. ive seen most turtles here and they dont. is it just like a rare stripe? it kinda cool

Mine's got it too. It's not quite as bright as the strips on his "ears" but it is pretty.

Well, the stripes are like fingerprints....no 2 turtles completely alike! :)

My RES has a red dot on his forehead area, which has become a little smaller as he's aged. I recently saw a RES in Petco that had red lines on the head in addition to the red ears. The red was a very deep color. Quite beautiful and interesting to look at.

yeah I have two RES' and one has the dot and one has the stripe just like you guys are talking about. Pretty cool.
