About 3 weeks ago I got a fake plant, the type that a lot of you have, with a suction cup on one end.
The suction cup is really strong, it even started sticking to the sink when I was cleaning it. I stuck to the bottom of the tank so it floated up the wall of the tank, and looked really nice. Ralph- being the destructo-turt he is, immediatly tried to uproot it. He figured out pretty quick that the suction cup at the bottom was what was holding the plant in place. I posted a vid a couple weeks ago of him "targeting" it and using his shell like a tank trying to un-stick it.

Last night, about 3 weeks after I first put the plant in, I came home to find the plant un-stuck. I wiped the suction cup to make sure it wasn't slippery from algae or something, and put it back in the same place. My dad commented it would be interesting to see if he learned a way to uproot it or if it was just luck.
This morning, I wake up to find the plant floating again... It didn't take him long to learn a new trick! Once he gets an idea in his head, there's no stopping him

They do love to redecorate! mine like to pull up the bubble wand out of it's suction cups. They scoot under it, and push up.

When I set up Sheba's 90 gal tank 4 months ago, I bought this gigantic plastic tree-root that allows her to rest in the water without being out of the water. I put it in one corner, then came home one day to see that she had moved it to the middle of the tank. Again, I moved it back into the corner, and she had it moved to the middle of the tank by day's end. Third time's the charm: I was home one Saturday all day & I wanted to see how she did this. I moved the root back into the corner & waited. Sure enough, it wasn't long before I heard a lot of banging noises in the tank. She was under the tree root, had picked it up, and was *walking* with it on her back, heading for the center of the tank.

So I just let her move it where she wanted it, and life in the aquarium has been quiet ever since.

That is adorable!!! I've noticed Napoleon redecorating once in a while, he has a few small plants that are weighted down with rocks but aren't fixed anywhere, and if he feels like letting loose and swimming back and forth he'll drag them under his basking dock so they're out of the way.

Well, they can pull the "disapearing act" in an unproperly covered tank! Or there's the surfing-in-front-of-the-filter-output-on-a-piece-of-lettuce trick.
Some people have also trained their turts to take food out of their hand...
