General Care Discussion :: Might be a stupid question :(

Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

Post Posted: Wed Feb 14, 2007 9:14 pm   Might be a stupid question :(

Is my turtle dead? When I fed him and my other turtle he didn't come to eat. He stayed mainly on the same spot all day. I went out for an hour and came back he was at the corner of the tank. I shaked the tank alittle to see if he moves. He didn't. I seperated him from the other turtle and put him in those small plastic boxes that they give you when you buy them. He had his mouth open and kept it open.

i hate to say it, but chances are he is :(.

for future reference, it's best not to shake the tank. that can seriously stress them out, and if it's a glass tank the shifting weight will affect the tank's structure. water's pretty heavy.

I agree with pumpkinsherbert,in reference to shaking the tank.I hate to say this, but hes probably dead or close to dieing  ..if hes alive, take him to a vet AS SOON AS POSSIBLE,if hes not.Im sorry for your loss...

If it comes to that, the best thing to do is take care of your remaining turtle and take it to a vet ASAP,theres a chance that whatever disease your other turtle had your remaining one might have it.
