Hi guys!

Yes Im showing off my 4 year old HUGE baby girl Tobi! Isnt she cute?
The kitty is my 17 years old Frankie girl. She could care less about the turt!! lol But checks her out anyway!

For anyone who has a BIG turt... any ideas for a "stay put" easy to make ramp and basking platform? I use the green ramp..but she is so heavy that it sinks too fast and too much. (Darn suction cups...) :( Any ideas would be appreciated. Im lookin around. I wish there was one that hung over the side of the tank or something and was large!?!

And I LOVE this site! I love looking at others babies too!!! :) (Too bad we cant show our other babies too..(dogs, cats, birds...) That would be FUN!

oh my word, she is MASSIVE! How cute are those giant back feet? haha

What kind of setup do you have her in? You could try getting some cork bark and wedging it in your tank, that would probably hold her pretty well :)

Yes her gots some BIGGGG feet...lol She is 9 1/2 long by 8 1/2 wide. I have her in a 75 gallon tank now and a few river rocks at the bottom. She also has a couple "pretty" perch decorations at the bottom and a heater and I use a Rena XP3 filter. Her basking spot is that plastic with green tread on it thing I got from 4littlepets.com and I have tried cork bark; but cant find any thick enough to hold her nor havent been able to stabilize it in the past. She WONT get on nothin she can move! lol

picky picky....:) But Ive seen a couple picks of some cool basking platforms here and just want to see how they made em. Looks like some may work! I dunno tho! lol

Thanks for looking Breigh!!!

awesome scripta! I use the same dock but guess I need to buy the magnetic algae scraper to keep the suction cups in 1 place! Good idea IF it ways enough, but my turt seems as big as hers so it should work! Any ideas where to get the scraper?!

Hey! Awesome big girl you have there! I bought my massive magnetic algae scraper at a local aquarium shop. The one I got is made for 350gal tank glass (even though I only have a 90gal tank). 350gal tank glass is extremely thick and the magnet is very strong because of that so it does NOT move!

If you need to, you can always buy two of these magnets to hold it up better. The XL basking platform still tips down due to my Sheba's massive 9 inch long shell & 4.4 lb weight, but at least it no longer slides down the wall.

Enjoy!

You may consider making her a pond, we transferred ours to a pond, went from 55 gal tanks(Lou at the time was almost 8 inches and the baby at 4 inches) to a 1200+ pond, they have never been happier. Lots of helpful posts in habitat outdoor for info on how to's. Also, thinking about her weight, she may need exercise and a larger living space could help her alot to live longer, we all outgrow our living spaces. :)
Anytime you see a turtle up on top of a fence post, you know he had some help.

Thanx mamalou...That is something for sure to think about when she gets BIGGER...if that happens. Otherwise my dogs would NOT leave anything else alone outside! :D They are older dogs though *sniff* and I believe Tobi will outlive us all. So.....for the future Im not counting it out!
