It's not a bad size tank for how big he is now, but you could definitely maximize the space by taking out a lot of those rocks. I'd be concerned about a landslide situation!

You can buy almost everything you need online, shipping might be expensive but it's really important if you want to keep this guy alive. At the very least you want proper lighting and a place to get out of the water and dry off. You can get the floating turtle docks online, which would save you all that space that's being taken up by the rocks. You also want to get a couple of light fixtures and a uvb bulb. Most people here use the Reptisun 5.0. For the basking bulb you can use a regular lightbulb, just use a thermometer to get the basking spot tot he right temperature (10 degrees warmer than the water). I got most of my supplies from reptiledirect.com, and a lot of people have mentioned reptilesupply.com. You can also order from petsmart.com and petco.com. Between those sites you should be able to get everything you need. It's a big hassle but really important for his health.

Take out ALL the rocks, I agree with starchick, I'd be terrified if all those rocks collapsed on my turtle(s)! It's an accident waiting to happen. It's realy not neccesary to have rocks (big or small IMO) in a turtle tank, They take up too much space and trap in alot of debri. Also is that fish gravel on the bottom? If so, I would take it out ASAP. There has been so many posts about turtles eating gravel and getting it stuck in their stomach, alot of them end up dieing, even with help from a vet.

In addition to the previous posts, I'd also be afraid of the little guy getting exploring the cracks and crevices in between the big rocks and getting stuck and drowning. You can build your own basking platform using pvc pipe for a frame and some plexiglass or other plastic material for the platform. They are very cheap to build.

He's a beautiful turtle! :D

Yes I've been thinking about that, but then again I found a store that will ship to Israel, one that which Starchick was so nice to post.
About the stones and cracks between them, I made sure they were all shut closed with tiny rocks, so he cant enter them.

Also dont worry guys, I'm doing my best to keep him happy and healthy, I will buy the Floating Basking Platform and I'm getting a UV bulb really soon, now I only got UVA light for his basking rocks =)
Also I'm removing all the sand in the bottom (tiny rocks actually) and I'm putting only river rocks (Not too big ones, with the basking platform (with UVA and UVB).

Just a matter of time, not too long! Dont worry!

Cool! That's great you got someone who ships to you. :D How bad is the shipping cost? I wonder if ordering online from the UK would be any cheaper.

That's an adorable little turtle. His color is very light - is he a pastel?

We can't emphasize enough about the hazzards of gravel or small rocks in a turtle tank. I think everyone has it on their minds because there was recently (another) tragedy where the person didn't know about the danger and took the gravel out as soon as he found out....but it was too late. So sad. We just don't want you and your little one to have to go through that.

On fixing up your tank - that's great if there's a place you can order stuff. For a lot of it, though, if you're at all handy you can make neat stuff yourself. Even if you're not handy, like me, you can make some really nice things. There are some very creative people on here so you can get ideas if you look around. One of our most creative types is grey goose. Here's a thread with some of his creations:

It's long but it's full of specifics.

It's so interesting to have people on here from different parts of the world. There was another member from Israel but she hasn't posted for awhile. We'll be able to learn a lot from you, I'm sure! Glad to have you on board.

I agree with spots mama, I noticed you said you close up those spaces with "tiny rocks" I would take out all small rocks asap. :)

Aye, next time I'm going to clean out the tank I'll have the floating basking area and the UVB light, and also will take all the gravel out.
But I made sure there are big river rocks covering ALL the gravel so its just for being pretty
But I'm really dissapointed I put the gravel after reading a bit more in the various sites.

Here. PLEASE READ THIS. It will change your mind!!!!!!!

http://www.redearslider.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2342

Now... whats more important... pretty gravel? Or the health of your turt? I know it sucks... but think about what will happen when your turt eats the gravel... how devastating it would be .... :( and I could find more threads for you on turtles that died from the gravel problem... if you want to review more cases.
