Actually, that's what it says on the ASPCA web site regarding kids and cruelty to animals. There's a strong likelihood that kids who do such things will end up willfully harming humans as well.

one thing i'm also active in is domestic abuse awareness. while doing research one questionaire i came across asked the question ''does s/he harm small animals?"

the reason that's considered a red flag is because it shows a lack of empathy, and lack of remorse for causing harm. lack of either shows anti-social and psychotic tendencies, and yes, it does tend to evolve to something more serious. people in charge don't typically roll their eyes at it (though they don't prioritize it as highly as they should), so i wouldn't think she'll get off scott free. too easy, imo, but not free.

Yes, I feel very sorry for her. Usually that kind of hostility and cruelty is a sign of something inside the person that is causing them to lash out. All to often it's because that person has been treated that way as a child and is reacting in the only way she knows how (or has been taught). But there are other mental illnesses that can cause an otherwise well raised child to behave this way too. Either way, she needs professional help. I think if we can get any authority to take this seriously, they will also see that since this is a child she should also get counseling (instead of a criminal record).

yeah, i do feel somewhat sorry for her but she can not be " let off " with the turtle abuse.
sick or not sick, that turtle does not deserve it.
a child is brought up and not dragged up if you know what i meen.
a child will behave in the way he/she is brought up.
i guess she never had a great roll-model.
i hope she will change her ways but i HIGHLY DOUBT IT.
i want all of this to be over.
if it was only that easy.

Alexis, who else have you contacted? I reported the video and the user to MySpace but haven't heard anything back either. I just PM'd Steve to ask him if he could report it to the FBI's Internet Crime Complaint Center since he has copies of 3 of the videos on his hard drive.

Someone talked with PETA and said they sounded like they wanted to do something but they wanted more information. I don't know what's come of that.

That's a beer not a coke. What an idiot. There's always going to be pathetic stuff like that on the internet, and guess what? There's a lot more of it going on in the real world that you don't see.

Don't go looking for it. It's out there and there's really nothing you can do about it. I've seen enough of it that "humanity" turns my stomach and makes me want to withdraw to the mountains.
