I have seen no chasing, fluttering, or even competition for food! They are being nice to each other! Hooray! The new tank fixed the problem for awhile!

Hey Scripta, down the road, if your turtles start bickering again (hopefully it will never happen), you might try what's described in this thread:

http://www.redearslider.com/forum/viewt ... ning#84806

This implies that a turtle might be rather trainable. Sure would be nice if this sort of training would work.

More room defiantly helps. The more "distractions" (decor) the better. But sooner or later, love will bloom, there's no getting around it........B.D. Is seriously courting Beaker, so far to no avail.... Like I said before I'm hoping for the best, planning for the worst. :)

Why can't B.D. just get a nice rock like all the other turtles?

Those young male turtles go for the flash and excitement of a big woman turtle. Maybe as they mature they will realize how much simpler life would be with a nice rock.

I wish! Poor B.D. can't take his eyes off of Beaker. Wherever she goes, B.D. is close behind (literally). Sniffing her butt, fluttering, swimming backwards, sideways, upside down (!!!!), He's doing all he can to impress her, to no avail. Beaker is putting up with his antics and B.D., much to his credit, is really being very much the gentleman in so far as being not too aggressive (he's really very mellow). Will it stay that way? Stay tuned.......

Yea my middle sized male does that to my big female too. Some days more intensely while other days they go about their own business. Never any aggression though.

it was Sparky harassing Spike 99% of the time... hmmm... maybe he is in love too? spike would flutter back 1% of the time. Usually she'd just baff him in the face if he got in her way. He was way to presistant hough. I was feeling sorry for Spike having to put up with him!

yay, it's such a warm fuzzy feeling isn't it?

i would suggest keeping an eye out for a little bit anyway. my turtles stopped fighting when i took them out of the 20 and put them in the 55 but they still have their moments. specifically when i feed them carrots, they'll go at each other. so just keep an eye out and see if you can find a hot button to be prepped :)
