HI. I have two male red ear sliders in an 80 gallon tank. they are both around 4-5 inches. Any suggestions on my setup?







I recently put some feeder fish in.

I would add a bit of deco if you can, maybe a few plants or something. Otherwise it looks great

a bit more decorations and it would look a lot better, still i like the setup and tank design!
i have the same filters as you, but my two babies broke the bottom of the filter, you no, were it sticks to the glass so now it is on the bottom.

maybe some big river rocks at the bottom. Make sure not gravel though! big enough so they cant swallow! and some plants also! Looks good though! Nice clean water!

i made a under water cave by using 3 rocks(big rocks) and rocky and squirt love it!
a cave is a great idea!

the lamp looks a bit low to me but it might be fine idk
i'd say give them some stuff to swim around and hide in. they like playin in stuff like that

The tank looks great. My only concern is can they both fit on that basking dock? You may want to get a second one or build something more sturdy (I'm not sure if you can buy any docks any larger than the one you have, I can't tell its size from the pic).

I assume that bulb is an MVB bulb so the turtles get both UVA and UVB light? If so, it's a bit too close to the basking dock. If not, you may want to pick up a UVB bulb so they get some UVB exposure. Otherwise, you could take them out into the sun once in a while.

Also, is there a water heater in the tank? I couldn't see one in the picture. It's really important to keep a relatively constant water temperature to maintain your turtles health. Heaters are pretty cheap compared to filter and the like, so you should pick one up if you don't have one. On the box they say how many gallons they're rated for.

Other than that, add some plants and it would be fantastic.

a toy......hmmmmmmmmmm........my turtles love to play with a table-tennis
ball.
they both love it and its not just my turts that play with a ball.
yeah it would be good to get something for them to hide in ( make a cave or something).
move the lamp a bit higher, now that i have noticed, it does seem to be a little low.
i love the tank design, stand.

Looks nice, though your heat lamp looks a little close. Have you measured the temp? I'm guessing that you are using tube-shaped fluorescents... but it does look very good! My tank lacks some decorations too

plants. preferably a few live ones. it'll help oxygenate the water as well as giving them something to snack on. a few aquarium decos, so they can hide. some aquarium rocks so they have something to play with. not necessary, but a nice aquarium background would do it some good. that's more asthetically pleasing to the owner than the turts, i'll admit, but it can also help dim the tank up a bit, keep it from getting too bright w/ the light in the room.

I like it. Put in a couple of rocks and a big fake plant. Maybe a background.
I've been taking things out of my tanks recently. I like the "less is more" look.

its a good looking tank but like everyone else I reckon it could use some decoration. try putting some river rocks in. my male res loves to play with river rocks.
