Today I bought Serra a HUGE plastic floating plant where she could rest on and play in! It ended up being so big I had to clip chunks of it off and give it to my newt tank otherwise Serra wouldn't have enough swimming space!
The plant ended up forming this cool cave underwater where the fish can hide and Serra could hide when she's feeling shy.

and the baby water hyacinth is anchored in the dense plastic vegetation so it wouldn't get pushed into the waterfall filter again

Here's what it looks like.

Serra's more happy to have a big plant for her to rest on!!

Padd's happy, too

Oooh pretty! Serra looks so cute resting in that plant, it looks like she really likes it. She looks like a jungle turtle! Is that one of those Fancy Plants Giants? I got one of them for Turtley's baby pool and he loves to hide under it and stick his head out through the foliage. Your tank looks so nice and natural, i'm jealous! Is it hard to keep it clean with so much stuff in it?

oh yea, that's what it was called.
It's not very hard to clean since I have this big turkey baster which sucks up the nasty stuff on the bottom.

lol thanks! I try to make things as natural as it can be!

Serra is so freakin' adorable. Lovely tank too. She's upstaging the plant though.
