That is a good warning. Someone else posted it on here a little while back. I wish it were much more widely spread.

I sent them message saying they ought to include this site also in their list of references since it specializes in RES, which is by far the most common kind.

yeah this was found on my craigslist in charleston so would have been someone local or can other people post on other cities listings?

Yeah they sell babie RES on the Myrtle Beach board walk.

Many people aren't aware that they are a lot of responblility

I know they also sell them at the flea market in Ladson thats where I got 3 of mine

Yea, i know that now,cause even though i've them for a couple of years.I only gave them the basics..food and a place to live.Now i know they need more than that,but im still keeping them.I kind of have become attached to them,especially one.

I got vacation turtles... I feel horrible I subjected them to the 18 hour drive from my sister's place in Florida back up to Cleveland

but they were so cute I had to have them.... ha I kinda regret buying them considering how expensive they have turned out to be, but I love them and wouldn't trade them for anything.

I bought 2 because I thought they were cute and wanted them for my classroom I ended up buying 3 there and lily was from there becaues I hate seeing them kept the way they are.

RES are sometime's also sold or given away at fair's, as well as fish and hermit crab's. Poor thing's..I can only imagine how many of them go to their new home's to slowly rot to death :(
