I just ordered a large size Zoo-med basking ramp. I haven't gotten it yet and was wondering if anyone uses that and what their opinion was of this ramp. My turt (Sheba) is 5" big. I got it thru a web site I found on one of the postings here, and it was a pretty good price.

I use the large zoo med dock. It's a bit small for both my 5 inch turts so I also use a turtle ramp. I've had a few fall apart on me after a while but I really think it just depends on who was putting them together on a particular day.

I am currently using a large ZooMed turtle dock, and upon arrival I noticed a crack right along the bottom of it... but saying that, its been in about a month now and I have had no problems with it... I take it out once a week and clean it - though I have to be gentle not to make the crack bigger, I have nothing bad to say about it, and the turts love it!

I use the medium dock. No problems here. My turt is getting a little to big for it though. And the part that dips ino the water for the turt to climb on is perpetually green from algae

Mine likes to cling to his small one. He will cling to all the edges and poke his head out of the water. Plus he likes to hide on it. I have never really ever caught him on top of it.

I gave my husband the "honor" of making a turtle dock. But.....he hasn't even started, so I went ahead and ordered that Zoo Med one. Sheba can't wait, she needs a good one now. I'm sure it will get algae on it, I guess any dock will.

Turtle Landing says no algae will grow on the product itself... I hope it's true :D .

I love the ZooMed dock but you should really open the box and inspect them at the store before doing buying it. Some of them come damaged. The first one I bought I didnt inspect and when I got home and opened it, the piece behind the two holes was flaking and broken so it came apart finally after two weeks.

The new one I bought, I checked it out at the store and it was perfect. There might be better docks out there but I love this one because it has that little beach at the end of it and then a higher part in the middle and then a flatter side at the other end so my turtle can have variety as to where she wants to bask in one dock. If this one breaks, Im going to go and buy it again.

I've never heard anyone have this problem before. How do you have the dock placed in your tank? Is it easy for your turtle to get to the ramp? Is there enough water in the tank so that it goes partially up the ramp? Is there any way you can post a picture? The only time I can see a turtle having trouble getting on one of these is if they are forced to have to try and climb the side of it.

Just a side note. I see you keep posting in multiple place with the same question. This is not going to get your question answered any faster and it makes it difficult for you to find the answers as people will be posting in multiple places. :)

ya it looks easy to access especially when i put the rocks on it to lower the dock but i think my turt is to lazy to climb on it and im woried that he might not get enough light staying in the water all the time

Well It seems to me that the rocks would prevent the turtle from being able to use the ramp as intended and that is to climb up on the dock. Take the rocks off. As long as the ramp part is partially in the water (which is the way it's suppose to work) the turtle will be able to get up on the dock. Some turtles like laying on the ramp part, partially in the water. It is very hard for most turtles to climb over the side of the dock. My turtles were larger than yours and had a difficult time. Let us know how you make out after taking the rocks off.

What are the basking/water temps? Maybe it's not warm enough up there. What size are both turtles? Just curious if there's enough room :)

I know sometimes my one turtle would just hang out on the ramp and not go all the way up.. she seems to like the temp a bit warmer than the other. I went to a higher watt bulb and now she loves it up there :)
