Well, Rubicon, I understood it was joke right away. No reason for people to make it a big deal.

I yelled at Tank yesterday because she made a gigantor mess in her tank (and I had just woken up). Then I put a snail in with her to clean up her discarded food bits and she took two bites at his shell. So I told her to leave The Janitor alone, and so far she has listened. I think that's only because she can't figure out how to eat him...

But yeah, little minnows and snails are quite convenient little cleaners and they provide food as well. I usually stock up on minnows, anachris, and snails if I know I am going out of town for a few days, so that way she has food to eat.

Oh, but if you want a cool fish... get a separate aquarium. I'd highly reccommend a Black Moor. They're ridiculous looking and precious. Oh, and they give kisses if you put your finger in the water. All they need is a 10 gallon and a filter that makes bubbles (they can't breathe without some kind of bubbler, but the filter works fine). And they eat goldfish food.

Yeah they're cute but if and when I get fish I'll probably get a saltwater aquarium.

I am guessing that your turtles are hatchlings actorial? They do develop improved hunting skills with age as well. My hatchling ate a minnow that was longer than her at 6 months. People don't keep even large Koi with turtles because they will eat them piece by piece. I purchased golf ball sized apple snails in the hope they would last, but Spike got them open.
I am not wishing ill upon the fishy pets, but please don't be lulled into a sense of security by the size of the fish, or the idea that the turtles will give up after a given amount of time.

both emil and gmil are 2.3inches in size. they are really aggressive type and they do chase after them everyday without fail. but i have plants, little cave for the fishes to hide and they are really fine. oh yah, once the gourami tail for bite off but had grew back now. i believe is the type of fishes u choose and how capable are them in hiding and running from predators. hmm..that's my thinking though.
