Before you fill that up, you need to put that tank on a something stronger than what its on in the picture. A 10 gallon filled up will weigh more than 90 pounds.

It'll weigh about 83.5 pounds but all all the doodads and gadgets then it'll weight about that much.

~70watt bult in the white lamp for heat! AND in the black lamp UVB light bult (Repti Glo 5.0)

You might as well get a dock, remove the gravel and get a good support table right now. If you can stand on it without it breaking then it's strong enough. Remove the gravel now just in case because when it grows up and eats one of the gravel then you'll just be saying to yourself "I should have removed the gravel." You could use sand as sand would just move through it's digestive system because it's so small. You can also get a dock to give your turtle a maximum swimming area.
Make sure your filter is at least rated two times the amount of water as turtles are messy creatures. Eg, you have 9 gallons of water, you need one that's at least 18. Three times the amount is even better. A canister is your best bet if you want the best for your turtle. I think your lighting is alright. On your basking area, make sure there's a place there your turtle can get completely dry, not partly but completely or it might get some kind of sickness.
If you don't want to buy a $20 dollar Zoo Med dock then you could get this: http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/p ... catid=8809
And this pretty cheap if you consider it. (I suggest the small or medium one, the large one is huge!)

Remember, raising a turtle or any kind of pet is a lot of work.

ok, the recommended filter ratings go as follows:

For a turtle tank you will want all the water in the tank to be cycled through the filter 4-5 times PER HOUR. This will require a filter that is rated for an aquarium that is about 3 times the size for the one you have. I have a 135 gallon aquarium, with about 120 gallons in it. My filter is tested at roughly 650 gallons per hour, so my water is theoretically being filtered over 5 times an hour.

Your best bet is the plan ahead and don't hesitate on your ideas. Getting the best equipment (aquariums, heaters, filters, and lights) as early as you can is a great money-saving technique.

Empty your tank first, remove the gravel, move the tank, reposition and secure any equipment, and refill the tank with cold (dechlorinated) tap water. Let your heater acclimate for about 20-30 minutes before turning it on. Let the water heat for a few hours or overnight, then test the water temp. If everything checks out, put in your turtle and let him get comfortable.

mite i suggest you get a zoo med floating dock ..there only about 10 bucks at your local pet store (petco has them also ) definitely put more water in it i have mine in a 20 gal long and hes only about an inch(the turtle) with the water preety high he/she will love more room to swim ...and keep the rocks if you whant to i personally like them ....and maybe a more powerfull filter im supprised it works in that low amount of water but its ok for know just do what is said if you whant but thats prob the best way to go

how you figure it out

Yah i spent many "hurs' looking at the main site!
Thank you all for your help!'=
I'm going to be posting in another section about my turtle's shell.
I just bought all these, lighting/Tank/water heater/rocks/filter, before (if u go to my first post) my Turtle lived for several mounts without lighting/Heater/filter, and to me hes shell does not look "Healthy"! And also he has a tiny but noticeable white spot on his shell before this setup! I looked around and saw that i need to give him a Salt Bath ( http://reslider.free.fr/backup/sickness.html )because he had a fungi infection and that it would be gone in 2 days but it didn't so i bought This Vital Shell ( http://store.elephantnosepetcenter.com/catalog/ste16965.jpg )with my new setup and i rubbed it on couple days ago i think i see a differace! :)
My question is should i use this Vita Shell the PETLAND lady said yes i Should!

b4--71 For the most part, most of the folks on this forum have turtles and are helpful. There are some guidelines that most of "us" stick by and that is: 10 gallons of water per inch of carapace " shell". Filter pump should exchange your water at least 5 times per hour. Keep the temp at about 75 to 78 degrees with a basking area about 90 to 91 degrees. For the basking area use uva and uvb lighting. They need the heat and the uvb light to metabolize their food. - Now, I personally have little regard for most pet stores and their employees when it comes to turtles. Most know where the bathroom is and when pay day is and that is about it.
