Habitat - Indoor :: fish IN the XP3???

Turtle tank setups and other indoor configurations.

Yesterday I took my XP3 canister apart to clean it for the big move.... and I found 3 guppies in the canister. I couldn't believe it! 2 of them were pretty small and were probably just little fry when ever they got sucked up... but one was pretty big. I guess he got sucked up when he was smaller and managed to survive in there!

I ended up "rescuing" them and throwing them back in to the turts. haha I'm sure they were trying to get away and that's why they were in there... but they can't fool me!

Has anyone else ever seen this before?

I've seen a baby guppy in the tube for an under-gravel filter that we used to have in a fish tank. He was in there for quite a while until we could clean the tank and get him out. We never did figure out how he got in there. :)

That shouldn't happen if you have the cap on the intake pipe. The slits would be too small for them to get through.

I do have the cap on the pipe. And the slits are deffenitly not too small for guppy fry.

if you get the same size guppys as i do then its definatly possible for them to get sucked into the slits....ive seen a few of mine get stuck in the slit then my turt would just walk up and eat it before it was fully sucked in.

Never guppies (I don't feed fish), but my XP3 is a hotel for snails. :)
