Get the one from Python, it should include a brass faucet adaptor.

I won't be buying one for a while, Just spend 20 dollars on his ATBA haha. Like I said before I have a Aquaclear 200, I know you guys don't like them but I think it does the job very well but the sand that lays right under where the water spills out it makes a big crater in the sand. Is there a way I can fix this? Add something to the bottom? Better yet modify the filter or add something to make the water hit a little closer to the surface? Making it pump less is not a option and neither is raising the water level since weight is a concern.

Isn't the Aquaclear intake tube made up of smaller extensions that you can add or remove?

the pre-filter is to block sand from entering the filter and messing up the motor. You can use foam or filter floss. Just rubber band it to the intake tube of the filter.

Here's the MSDS sheet for Quikrete Playsand

Looking at the sheet, it also contains crystalline silica. You can leave the sand you have in the tank...no issue. Just look for and try to remove any pebbles in the sand that a turtle might be able to swallow.

If you can find "pool filter sand" use that instead. I just picked up two 50lb bags at my local pool supply store for about $10/bag. The difference between the pool filter sand and the play sand is like night and day. I have a bag of play sand in the basement that I bought last winter when I couldn't find any ice melt salt. Earlier I did an experiment to try to determine if I should wash the pool filter sand before putting it in the tank. I sifted a handful of each through my hands. The play sand was very inconsistent with grain size, everything from pebbles to dust, my hand was so covered with superfine sticky dust, I had to wash them. the pool filter sand is very consistent with grain size, and absolutely no dust left on my hand,

I'd love to know where you got your tank and how much it cost! (the prism shaped one) We've been stuck with the one that came with her, and she's been steadily outgrowing it. I've wanted to get something that had a lid similar to that so I could fill the water higher and not worry about her getting out (she's very persistent at this and has almost hurt herself a few times).

I think he bought it a couple of years ago on craigslist. It's rare to find tanks like that, but there are plenty of glass aquariums that are decently priced.

Yeah, I've been hunting around on Craigslist for a good deal. Found a few, but a bit out of our price-range still at the moment. Maybe we'll save up and get her a nice big 100gal for christmas ^^

If you get one new, look on http://www.glasscages.com/?sAction=ViewCat&lCatID=2. They have every size you could want. Sometimes they do shows in different cities and you can get a good deal on them..especially if you pick it up there (shipping is a pain otherwise). They even have some tanks with the ramps built in

Yeah, I got it off craigslist. had to drive a fair amount to go and get it, but I got the tank, stand, a Rena XP1, a light, background, and an expensive fake rock for $250. goood deal.
