Habitat - Indoor :: Malaysian Trumpet Snails MTS yea or nay?

Turtle tank setups and other indoor configurations.

Just got a couple of Malaysian Trumpet Snails and debating on adding them to my 55 gallon tank with 1 adult slider, fish and plants. I've read about how great they are and how much of a pest they can be. Anyone want to share their experiences?

Very very hard. You can't crush them with your hands. I have them in my 40 Gallon fish tank. They are every where due to a little over feeding.

So it's probably not a good idea to put them with RES.

I found a snail in my tank probably came from the aquatic plants anyways now I have found about ten of them. They will breed like rabbits. I noticed the first one about two weeks ago or maybe abit longer but yeah. you will have a bunch in no time. Toku doesn't seem to be interested with them since they are the size of a pin point.

Here are some babies in my tank. Special camera lens was needed to film.

I have mystery snails in my RES tank. Do they reproduce when in captivity. I have four and have had them for a couple of months but no babies or eggs so far.

the snail snails in my tank look like that but are dark brown and much much smaller! I mean these guys are so small I can't even get the camera to pick them up! Ialways mistake them for small debris

^That's sand in my tank, not gravel.

Great video Linus! How do you like them in your fish tank? Would you add them again given the choice? Do they crawl all over your glass?
I like the idea of sand cleaning turtle poop eating army.

^There is a lot of them, which is a little annoying. But they do a good job. I'd be worried about a turtle choking on the sharp adults.
