Yeah he rest on the underwater branch a lot to look around above the water surface. Maybe he expects a different scenery than he sees under the water through the glass? It's quite possible;)

That is pretty awesome good work man. Just be careful he doesn't try to venture beyond the basking spot :shock:

He can't climb out there is a bigger gap than appears in the pics. As far as the water hieght he doesn't climb over the rim at all. I think he likes his tank;)
