I tucked the moss into the egg crate. Maybe I should remove it? I was worried about the egg crate hurting her shell or legs. The ramp is resting on her old basking shelf. I was hoping that shelf would be familiar and help ease the transition to the above tank area.

I adopted Frankie so I'm learning on the fly. I have fish and cats, but turtles are new to me and I dont want to hurt her in any way.

Try shelf liner or reptile carpet. You can use plastic zip ties to attach it to the egg crate.

48 gallon. She's not very big, probably 4- 5 inches.

Yea l can see that. Not a bad setuup. But I believe in bigger is better. Its a bit late but Welcome to Steve's forum.

The platform and ramp is one solid piece of plexiglass with tile siliconed on top. I used some 30 grit sandpaper to scuff the plexiglass before siliconing the tile to it.

Looks great, but you might have trouble with that wood. What kind is it? As for the attachments, it was probably too large.

Hi ya, it's untreated but I know it won't last long, was just a quick fix to buy me some time to plan a permanent platform, I'm liking the suggestion of pvc piping so gonna have a look around and see what I can get

My Sheldon loves the egg crate all by itself. She's always leaning on the ramp - no cushion necessary. As for securing the bottom, I don't but I don't have a long way to the bottom either.
