Habitat - Indoor :: POST YOUR BASKING AREA PICTURES HERE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Turtle tank setups and other indoor configurations.

Hi all! Wanted to shared pictures of my new tank setup :) I was using the Zoo Med turtle dock for a looong time, and finally upgraded to an out of tank basking platform. I ordered through glass cages .com for the top aquarium/ramp (it's called the "turtle condo"), and had an AMAZING experience with them. The first ramp they sent me had about a 4 inch crack, and they promptly sent me a new one free of shipping charges (and let me keep the other one as a backup). Definitely an investment, but SO worth it!

Even though the ramp comes with grooves, I used tub grip to line everything and make it even easier for my turtle. Word of caution, if you're thinking of ordering the same one, getting the plexiglass side cut-out for tubing and such is a MUST...the whole thing wouldn't have worked without it! So far, Sheldon is definitely enjoying it :)

Hey this is my first time posting on here and I appreciate any help you guys can offer. So here's my dilemma, I made a turtle topper for my 4 turtles(red eared sliders). They are less then a year old and I have them in a 40 gallon breeder tank. Before, I just had a floating dock in the tank and they would always be basking on it. With the new topper they won't go up inside. They only go high enough on the ramp to be out of the water. How can I show them that they have so much more room to hang out in the topper?

Try to lure them up there with food. Also increase the warmth, and maybe position it closer to the ramp so it can draw them up there. Lastly, cover the sides so they have some privacy.

Temp is good. Water is 79 basking area is 90. I was thinking maybe it's too far of a walk for them? I just put some food in the water dish I have up in the topper. We will see if that works. Thanks for the advice

New to Site. Here is the ATBA for my Turt. Outgrew the first basking dock that you get at petsmart store. Built a plexiglass one for the 55 gallon tank. Outgrew that one. Just got another made. Basks all the time. One pic old ATBA which is smaller. new ATBA is 2/3 way across the 125 G tank.

He/she seems to be happy. Use to balance himself on the old smaller one which was funny but he liked it even stretching his/her feet out in the sun.

Cant post pics system says files too big. not very computer savy. how to make so they can be posted?  see if this works

To link pictures, look here:

To see a sample (if you click "Quote" on this post, you can see how I put it in.) In photobucket, look next to the Share info

The shell looks a like it has a bit of curl on the marginals. An adjustment in the diet might help a bit.

130 liters is about 35 gallons. Very nice looking tank. Try to have the UVB over the basking area too.
