someone suggested setting up a nesitng area for my 2 yr old female res. odes she need on even if no males are around will she still lay eggs ? howo do i set one up? eight now shes in a 20 gal extra long tank shes jsut 5 inches & she freaked when i tried a bigger tank. the only dry area of her tank is her basking area which is a large wood bridge. how would i set up a nset area in a all wet tank? thanks!!

Even without a male, the females lay eggs, just like chickens. At 2 years old I doubt that she is ready to lay eggs, but it's always best to be prepared.

20 gallons is too small for a 5 inch turtle. If you have the bigger tank, you should go ahead and set it up. She needs at least 50 gallons. She may have freaked because it was something new, but within a couple of days she should be right at home. My turtles loved their upgrade to the 75 gallon tank.
