I'd suggest Ebay. You'd have to have your parents help you with that one or someone you know who already has an ebay account. Just make sure you look up one that's in your area, cause you'd have to pick it up. You probably wont be able to get one for 75$ but keep saving.

I went to my local SuperPet and got a 50 gal for $79 and another $79 for the stand. You could also try the classified ads in the newspaper. A lot of people will sell used tanks dirt cheap.

A painted turtle from the wild should stay in the wild.. You shouldnt take then away from that... Its good that your have lots of wild turtles where you live but just enjoy them outside when you see then... I would not keep them.

Since you wont have a larger tank for a while i would head to walmart or anywhere and buy a large rubermaid container.. I had a 40 gallon clear one for my turtle for a while before my large tank was made... I will buy you some time before you can find a real tank.

In today's local paper here someone was selling a 90-gallon with all the filters for $80.00. Try looking in the want ad section of your newpaper and at garage sales as well.

In addition to leaving wild turtles where they should be (in the wild), the chances of them having parasites are very high and you wouldn't want your RES to get them if you can help it.
