Towards the middle of our trip I had to correct the guy watching over the turtles because he was feeding them twice as much as needed. I just got home two days after the air conditioning broke down in here and the water temps in both the fish and turtle tanks literally skyrocketed over 90 degrees (you're sure in for hell if you don't have your A/C by summer in FL). When I got home and checked the turtles, everyone grew about half an inch in there, so I checked everyone's shell and found slight pyramiding on everyone, but nothing rocky-feeling.
Sorry for rambling so much, but I noticed one of the larger turtles had an extremely long tail over an inch long with the opening halfway from the tip. I think I might have all the circumstances all screwed up, but I think this turtle is a male.
