Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

As you all know, I'm trying hard to get Krueger to shed to get rid of his shell issues he had when i got him...so his shell is looking different and I'm not sure it he's trying to shed or if his problem is getting worse. I kinda think he's getting close to shedding (yay!) but I want to be sure because if it's getting worse I want to take him to the vet. Unfortunately, I don't have a way to take a pic right now, so would you all be nice enough to show me some examples of white "about to shed" or the beginnings of shedding might look like?

This was Squirtle before he figured out that he could rub against the filter to make his shutes come off.

when my turtles shed it comes off piece by piece and they are growing fast so they shed often about twice a year or more . but ask your vet about this stuff thats used for reptiles that shed skin like lizards and snacks but it for reptiles of all kinds its called shed aid and you can get it in most pet stores u just put a cap full in warm watter like in the tub and let your reptile sit in it for the directed time and it helps them shed. BUT ASK YOUR VET FIRST NO MATTER WHAT! Like i said i only used it for our snakes and lizards. and it makes their skin soffter so they can shed more easily so if you are able to use it im sure you would have to make your turtle bask for a long while after words .

let them fall off on their own!!! don't pull them off cuz it will only hurt your turtle
