I woke up this morning and forgot to turn my turtles lights on before I went to work. Will this hurt him/her?

No it won't hurt him/her. Turn it on for a few hours when you get home so he/she will get some good light.

Why don't you look into getting a timer for the lights? I got one at Lowe's for $5 and it works great. They have expensive timers too but you really don't need one.

Yeah. Im going to get one. With the new school year, I really haven't had much time to myself. So many lesson plans, and preparing for parent info sessions. Just been crazy. Going out to get one this weekend though. =)

Dont Leave the lights on too late either....Done that to Kai last night and he got pissed off and tryed to bite me but he was fine in the morning.

YES IT WILL !!!, the shell will turn real soft in couple hours and the REs will turn real sick :lol:

did you ever had a day with out sunshine like a cloudy day ???
I guess is kiind of the same thing ,

Turtle's shell have alot of nutrients that keep it strong and hard, the reason no basking causes soft shell is because of the lack of UVB rays that metabolize vitamins that help the shell stay strong. But no basking for a couple of hours or days wont do any harm

Your RES will be fine, I have also forgotton to turtn my turtle's light on many many times, i will soon pick a timer up.

I think he was kidding, man, relax....but no, it wont do ANY harm to leave the turtle without lights for a couple of days.
