Feeding and Nutrition :: Trying to entice eating, using tuna.... but it sinks

Hows my little guy going to eat tuna if it sinks.... how do you do this to entice eating..

to him it doesn't stink. It's the smell of fish, he will be enticed by the smell

Turtles eat fish, tuna is fish, so they are probably going to smell the fish and eat the pellets.

Im not talking about the smell, the tuna SINKS, and goes into the river rock bottom out of site. This is a pretty sedentary turtle so I dont know if he will dig around for it

try putting him in a shallow dish with only a little water in it. Just enough he can put his head under. put the tunna in there

Lol you read my mind... I decided to do that about 20 minutes ago, right after the last post.... so I put a dish in the bottom of the tank, buired to the top in his river rock bottom, put tuna in there and left it, came back in a few minutes and couldnt tell if he ate it or the filter blew water in it and around the tank....

So.....

I decided to set up some home security lol... As i have said before my tank is wrapped all the way around with background cause hes shy and skittish.... so...

I put my webcam on the side of the tank.... hooked it up to my laptop and had a little stakeout in my living room. After about 5 minutes of looking at it this is what I got





So now Ive got a problem, how much tuna should I feed him... hes gotten prob a clump about the size of his head and no other food in him in probably a week... should I feed him till theres leftovers in the bowl?

Oh that's such a cute picture, what a funny idea! I'm glad he's eating. You should probably not give him anymore today at least, tomorrow see if you can feed him pellets soaked in tuna juice maybe. They'll eat way too much if you let them eat till they're full.

I gave him some omore tuna just to get some food in him he ate some, left the rest and after that he was moving about a bit, attempted to go on the basking area a little.
